Mr. Barnett Crawford, a Choctaw Nation citizen, wrote to Congressman Carl Albert urging him to use his influence to expedite the payment for the coal and asphalt lands belonging to the Choctaws and Chickasaws purchased by the Federal government. Congressman Albert responded, assuring Mr. Crawford that he will do all he can to have the full amount of $8,500,000 placed in a supplemental appropriation bill so that all members of the tribes can be paid off in full.
