Mr. McClure wrote a letter to Congressman Carl Albert regarding the per capita payments to members of the Choctaw and Chickasaw Tribes for the sale of their coal and asphalt lands. Congressman Albert reassured Mr. McClure that he would work to secure the full amount of $8,500,000 for these payments in a supplemental appropriation bill during the current session of Congress. Mr. McClure expressed his gratitude and hoped that Congressman Albert would act in the best interest of the tribes.
