The first letter from Carl Albert to Robert Fulton informs him that the $8,500,000 payment for the sale of segregated coal and asphalt lands to the government has been included in a bill that will be brought before Congress for action. Payments to the Choctaw and Chickasaw Tribes should be made within two months after the bill is passed. In the second letter, Carl Albert indicates that he will do all he can to ensure that money is appropriated for the payments to be made that year. Robert Fulton requests early payment for the Choctaw and Chickasaw tribes from the coal and asphalt settlement.
