Mr. James wrote to Congressman Carl Albert asking about payment to the Choctaws and Chickasaws for their land sold to the government. Congressman Albert responded that payments will be made to living enrolled members first, with proof of heirship notices to be sent out later. He also mentioned that the rolls of the two tribes have not been reopened. Mr. James expressed gratitude for the information and interest in the welfare of the tribes.
