The letter is from Hon. Carl Albert to P. M. Jackson, providing information on the distribution of funds from the sale of Choctaw and Chickasaw lands to the enrolled members of the tribes. The purchase price was $8,500,000 and the per capita payment will be made according to the act of June 24, 1948. The Indian Office is working on regulations for immediate payment to living enrolled members, followed by proof of heirship notices to be filled out by heirs.
