The letter from Carl Albert, M.C. dated May 24, 1949, informs Mrs. Floy Martin about the process of getting payment for the sale of coal lands to the government by the Choctaw and Chickasaw Nations. The letter explains that proof of heirship notices will be sent out for completion and return to determine the legal heirs and amount each is to receive. Immediate payment will be made to living enrolled members, followed by payment to heirs. The letter also mentions the passing of an appropriation bill for $8,500,000 to be paid to the Choctaws and Chickasaws for the sale of their lands.
