The OCA IHS Advisory Board supports the Cherokee-Delaware Tribe in maintaining its own IHS program. The Cherokee Tribe has not opposed the Cherokee-Delaware's independent vote in previous meetings. The Cherokee-Delaware Tribe has submitted a petition for support and the Board has approved a resolution in their favor. The Cherokee-Delaware Tribe has its own Tribal Government that conducts business with the Bureau of Indian Affairs. The Board requests that the IHS take steps to prevent the Cherokee Tribe from interfering with the Cherokee-Delaware Tribe's IHS programs.
