The letter is a response from Congressman Carl Albert to a inquiry from Mr. Joseph Hillary Moore regarding payment to Choctaw and Chickasaw Indians for coal lands sold to the government. The letter explains that living enrolled members will be paid first and checks will be sent out by the Superintendent of the Five Civilized Tribes Agency in Oklahoma. Shares of deceased members will be divided among heirs, with proof of heirship notices sent out for completion. Congressman Albert offers further assistance if needed.
