The letter from Mrs. Becker to Carl Albert inquires about the appropriations for the Choctaw and Chickasaw Nations for the sale of their coal lands. Carl Albert responds that the bill was signed into law and payments will be made to living enrolled members of the tribes. He gives information on the process and suggests contacting the Superintendent in Muskogee, Oklahoma for more details. Albert gives permission for excerpts of his remarks to be included in the next issue of Smoke Signals and looks forward to receiving a copy.
