Indian Land Payment Inquiries: A Letter from Mrs. Annie Luker to Congressman Carl Albert, 1949-05-31

 Item — Box: DP 6, Folder: 72
Identifier: CAC_CC_001_4_6_72_0008
Mrs. Annie Luker wrote to Congressman Carl Albert inquiring about the payments to the Choctaw and Chickasaw Nations for the sale of their land to the government. The Indian Office advised that enrolled members will receive around $325 each, with checks to be mailed out by the Superintendent of the Five Civilized Tribes Agency in Muskogee, Oklahoma by the latter part of July. Congressman Albert suggested that Mrs. Luker verify her address with the Superintendent to avoid any delays in receiving her payment.
