Mr. Thomas Wade wrote a letter to Carl Albert inquiring about the payment to members of the Choctaw and Chickasaw Nations for the sale of their coal lands to the government. Carl Albert responded, stating that enrolled members of the tribes will receive their payments first and that the checks will be mailed out in about sixty days. He advised Mr. Wade to notify the Superintendent of any address changes and offered further assistance if needed.
