Violation of Tribal Rights: The Battle for Self-Determination, 1975-04-03

 Item — Box: 30, Folder: 46
Identifier: CAC_CC_003_2_30_26_0017
The Cheyenne-Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma are protesting against the Bureau of Indian Affairs for negotiating a contract for the operation of Concho School without the approval of the Tribal Council. They claim that this violates their Constitution and the spirit of Public Law #93-638, which was intended to give Indian people control over their affairs. The Tribal Council is seeking support to ensure that they have a say in the management of their own affairs and to prevent violations of their rights.
