Senator Dewey F. Bartlett has introduced two pieces of legislation to distribute appropriated funds to the Creek Indians of Oklahoma. The bills provide for a total of $1,796,000 to be distributed, with one bill allocating $450,000 and the other $1,346,000. The funds are judgements in favor of the Creek Indians by the Indian Claims Commission. The funds will be used for purposes authorized by the Principle Chief of the Creek Nation of Oklahoma and approved by the Secretary of the Interior.
