Claude Cox won re-election as Creek Tribal Chief by a close margin of 48 votes, defeating Allen Harjo. Harjo, the runner-up, may challenge the results due to alleged irregularities in the election process. Cox, a half-blood Creek, is the tribe's first elected chief since statehood in 1971.
