Mrs. Dickerson wrote to Congresswoman Helen Gahagan Douglas seeking help for her husband, Private First Class George W. Dickerson, who had been convicted of Grand Theft and faced a Bad Conduct Discharge. Mrs. Dickerson believed her husband was not mentally responsible for his actions and needed medical attention.
