The Skiatook Chamber of Commerce has approved a resolution in favor of upstream flood control under Public Law 566, administered by Conservancy District #30 of the State of Oklahoma, for the Bird and Hominy Creek watersheds. It is believed that this type of control will offer flood protection, water for municipal uses, sedimentation control, irrigation, and recreational uses at a lower cost.
