Title: Claims of Heirs of Choctaw and Chickasaw Tribes of Indians, 1949-09-08

 Item — Box: 6, Folder: 74
Identifier: CAC_CC_001_4_6_74_0002
Mrs. Vivian Hays Wallace wrote a letter to Congressman Albert inquiring about the claims of heirs of the Choctaw and Chickasaw Tribes of Indians. She received a response from Marie Mobley, the secretary to Congressman Albert, stating that after all living enrolled members of the tribes have been paid, notices of proof of heirship will be sent out to be filled in by the heirs of deceased members. The Five Civilized Tribes Agency will determine who the legal heirs are, and they do not have to be on the rolls of the tribes. If Mrs. Wallace has further questions, she is encouraged to reach out for assistance.
