Mrs. Elmira Mitchell wrote to Congressman Carl Albert inquiring about payments to the Choctaws and Chickasaws for the sale of their coal and asphalt lands to the government. Congressman Albert responded that payments have already started and checks are being mailed as applications are received and checked; rather than alphabetically. He directed Mrs. Mitchell to contact the Superintendent of the Five Civilized Tribes Agency in Muskogee; Oklahoma for more information on obtaining payment.
