Mr. Clark Jackson wrote to Carl Albert; a member of Congress; requesting the prompt payment of the Choctaws and Chickasaws for the sale of their coal and asphalt lands. Carl Albert responded; informing Mr. Jackson that payments will begin in July and expressing frustration with the Indian Services slow progress. Albert assured Jackson that the checks would be mailed soon and encouraged him to inform his neighbors. Albert also offered further assistance if needed.
