 Item — Box: 6, Folder: 77
Identifier: CAC_CC_001_4_6_77_0001
Mrs. Harriet C. Pierce writes to Congressman Carl Albert inquiring about the payment to Choctaw and Chickasaw members for the sale of their coal and asphalt lands to the government. Congressman Albert assures her that living enrolled members will begin receiving payments of around $350 in July, with deceased members' heirs to be paid afterwards. He advises Mrs. Pierce and the Gollihare family to request proof of heirship notices from the Superintendent in Muskogee if they do not receive them. Mrs. Pierce also asks about the timing of payments to living Choctaw members.
