Mrs. Susie B. Williams wrote to Congressman Carl Albert inquiring about the time of payment to the Choctaws and Chickasaws for the sale of their coal and asphalt lands to the government. Congressman Albert assured her that payments would begin in July and expressed frustration with the slowness of the Indian Service. Mrs. Williams was advised to inform her neighbors that they would soon receive their checks. Congressman Albert offered further assistance if needed.
