Mrs. Lora K. Davis received a letter from Carl Albert, a Congressman, informing her that payments to the Choctaw and Chickasaw Nations for the sale of their coal and asphalt lands to the government are being processed and will be around $350. The Indian Service has been slow in making these payments, but efforts are being made to expedite the process. Albert also mentioned that an appropriation bill has been signed to pay the nations for their lands. He assured Mrs. Davis that he is available to assist further if needed.
