Identifier: CAC_CC_001_4_6_77_0020
Mrs. Maggie Draper Odell wrote a letter to Carl Albert inquiring about when payment will be made to the Choctaw and Chickasaw Tribes for their coal land sold to the government. Carl Albert responded, stating that living enrolled members will be paid first on a lump sum basis, with heirs of deceased members able to submit claims afterwards. He advised Mrs. Odell to contact the Agency in Muskogee if she does not receive a notice. He assured her of further assistance if needed.
