 Item — Box: 6, Folder: 78
Identifier: CAC_CC_001_4_6_78_0009
Mrs. Phoebe A. Sewell wrote to Carl Albert, a congressman, inquiring about payments to Choctaw and Chickasaw Indians for coal and asphalt lands sold to the government. Albert responded that payments are expected to be made this year, with living enrolled members receiving around $300 or more. He advised enrolled members to ensure their mailing address is up to date to avoid delays. He also mentioned that heirs of deceased members will receive payments based on proof of heirship. Albert offered further assistance if needed.
