Progress of Payment to Choctaw and Chickasaw Indians, 1949-10-27

 Item — Box: 6, Folder: 79
Identifier: CAC_CC_001_4_6_79_0003
Progress is being made in the per capita distribution of funds to Choctaw and Chickasaw Indians from the sale of tribal lands. Claims of living enrollees are being paid, with over 10,000 claims certified for payment. The process for deceased enrollees is more complex, with forms for proof of heirship being mailed out and assistance being provided to those who need help. The work is progressing satisfactorily and payments to heirs are expected to be made as quickly as possible.
