File — Box: 97, Folder: 10
Identifier: CAC_CC_026_1_197_10_008
Senator Fred R. Harris received a letter from the Bureau of Indian Affairs stating that the American Truck Driving Academy did not request course approval for training Indian truck drivers. The Bureau provided information on criteria for approval and suggested that Mr. Walter Parr contact a specific officer for more assistance in making an application for training. Walter Parr had previously expressed disappointment in the lack of training opportunities for Indians, specifically in the field of diesel truck driving. He emphasized the need for training that leads to immediate employment and requested support from Senator Harris's office in providing this training.
