Investigation into Meat Grading at Flagstaff, Arizona Meat Packing Company, 1970-01 - 1970-12-31
File — Box: 197, Folder: 3
Identifier: CAC_CC_026_1_197_3_003
A call was received from George Pearson regarding the Bureau of Indian Affairs purchasing meat without grading for quality. The Senator was informed and requested to investigate who does the purchasing and why grading is not required. It is mandatory for the BIA to use specified standards when procuring meat, including USDA inspection regulations. Mr. Pearson should be informed of the investigation but caution should be taken to avoid any trouble with Wilson. An appointment with Mr. Kickingbird from the BIA was requested.
