Chief W.E. McIntosh of the Inter-Tribal Council of the Five Civilized Tribes wrote a letter to Senator Fred R. Harris regarding the establishment of the Carlisle Indian School National Monument in Pennsylvania. The legislation is pending in the House Armed Services Committee. The council voted to support the bill during their quarterly session and asked for Chairman Rivers' consideration. The letter was also sent to members of the Oklahoma Congressional delegation and the Commissioner of Indian Affairs.
