Report on Indian Boarding Schools Funding and Policy, 1970-07-28

 File — Box: 197, Folder: 3
Identifier: CAC_CC_026_1_197_3_011
Senator Fred R. Harris received a letter from Mr. Dick Paris regarding Indian boarding schools. Senator Harris is opposed to young Indian children being transported long distances to attend boarding schools and believes they should have schools near their families. He helped secure funding for the Eufaula Boarding School and passed an amendment to provide more funding for Indian schools for teachers and guidance personnel. Senator Harris appreciates the opportunity to provide this report to Mr. Paris.
