Senator Fred R. Harris is writing to Mr. Patrick Dion Melendy, the Director of the Chicano Indian Study Center of Oregon, enclosing a copy of a reply received from the Department of Health, Education and Welfare. Senator Harris expresses hope that a satisfactory arrangement can be made between C.I.S.C.O. and the Department to allow C.I.S.C.O. to continue operating. Senator Harris also offers further assistance and extends best wishes for a happy holiday to Mr. Melendy and his family.
