Mrs. Bertha Medell writes a letter to Mr. Harris, explaining that her two daughters, Mary Sue and Martha, want to enroll in college at Eastern State in Wilburton, Oklahoma to study Business. However, they do not have the means to afford it due to financial difficulties caused by her husband's illness. Mrs. Medell asks for advice and assistance from Mr. Harris, as her daughters have Cherokee heritage and may be eligible for support.
