Identifier: CAC_CC_026_1_235_15_090
The Bureau of Indian Affairs provided additional information to Senator Harris regarding discrimination against Indian students in the Rapid City Public Schools. They arranged for the transfer of two surplus school buses to the Community Action Program in Rapid City to address the transportation issue. The Rapid City schools receive federal funding under Public Law 81-874 and Title I to benefit low-income students, including Indian students. The Bureau of Indian Affairs will continue to monitor the situation and offer assistance as needed.
