Roberta Gaulden wrote to Senator Fred R. Harris seeking assistance in finding scholarships to attend law school. Senator Harris suggested contacting the University of New Mexico's Indian law student program or the Indian Scholarship Service, Inc. He also included a pamphlet with information on general Indian scholarship aid. Ms. Gaulden expressed her interest in becoming a lawyer and highlighted her academic achievements and personal background.
