Assistance for Higher Education: A Response to Mrs. Ruby Frang's Inquiry', 1971-12-07

 File — Box: 266, Folder: 23
Identifier: CAC_CC_026_1_266_23_005
Mrs. Ruby Frang wrote to Senator Fred R. Harris seeking assistance with obtaining Bureau of Indian Affairs scholarship for her son. Senator Harris contacted the Bureau on her behalf, and they responded stating that her son did not qualify for their assistance as he was less than one-fourth Indian. However, they provided information on other sources of financial aid for American Indian students. Mrs. Frang's letter detailing her family's financial need may make them eligible for assistance from other programs. Senator Harris expressed willingness to help further if needed.
