Mrs. Victoria Tahbone contacted Senator Fred R. Harris for assistance in obtaining scholarships for her children. The Bureau of Indian Affairs requested additional information regarding her Indian bloodline to determine eligibility for scholarships. Mrs. Tahbone believes her grandmother was of a higher degree of Indian blood than previously recorded. The Bureau provided information on sources of assistance for Indian students and urged Mrs. Tahbone to submit evidence for a revised determination. Mrs. Tahbone expressed her concerns about the BIA's handling of her case and requested help from Senator Harris. The Code of Federal Regulations regarding the preparation of a roll for distributing judgment funds to California Indians was also included in the correspondence.
