Identifier: CAC_CC_026_1_266_24_004
Mr. Daniel N. Stiles requested help from Senator Fred Harris to enroll his adopted Eskimo daughter, Anastasia, in Sequoyah High School. After facing challenges with the Muskogee Area Office, Anastasia was finally enrolled as a ninth-grade student. Senator Harris forwarded information from the Bureau of Indian Affairs to the Stiles family, informing them of Anastasia's enrollment and offering further assistance if needed. Anastasia's parents had faced difficulties with proving her heritage and dealing with the office's refusal to accept her application. Senator Harris intervened on their behalf to ensure Anastasia's enrollment in the school.
