William W. Dawson, an attorney, thanks Representative James Jones for his interest in the Seminole Freedmen's right to share in land settlement awards. He informs Jones that a judge has ruled in favor of the Freedmen, and urges Jones to support legislation that ensures their full participation in the distribution of the award. Dawson also plans to discuss with the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma's attorney to potentially request the Department of Interior to include the Freedmen in the distribution plan. Dawson expresses gratitude for Jones' assistance and public service.
