A public meeting was held at the Tulsa City-County Public Library in Oklahoma to discuss proposed revisions to IHS Eligibility Regulations. Approximately 65 people attended, representing various tribes. Concerns were raised about the impact of the changes on eligibility criteria, with some suggesting a blood quantum requirement. Opposition was expressed towards allowing non-Indians to receive IHS services, and concerns were raised about overcrowding and the perception that IHS facilities were no longer for Indians. Attendees were advised to submit written comments on the proposed changes before February 17, 1981.
