The Board Resolution recognizes the importance of judicial recognition of the existence of Indian country in Oklahoma to Oklahoma tribes. It urges the United States Attorney for the Western District of Oklahoma to assume his proper law enforcement role in Indian country and requests Oklahoma's Congressional delegation to take no action affecting the jurisdictional status of Indian country in Oklahoma. The resolution also pledges Commission support of tribes in order to preserve Indian country in Oklahoma and ensure adequate law enforcement protection of its inhabitants.
