Item — Box: 11, Folder: 78
Identifier: CAC_CC_001_4_11_78_0001
Roy M. Johnson, an oil producer from Ardmore, Oklahoma, wrote to Congressman Carl Albert expressing his concerns about HR 4752, a bill that would increase annual rentals on Government oil and gas leases. Johnson requested Albert's help in preventing the passage of the bill and also mentioned the need for supplies for development operations. Albert responded, informing Johnson that the bill was pending in subcommittee and that he would be happy to assist Johnson's attorney, Sidney A. Martin, during his visit to Washington. Johnson also sent a telegram to Congressman Tobey Morris, highlighting the importance of encouraging development of potential oil fields in mountain states.
