The letter is in response to a petition opposing proposed legislation to extend the time for leasing Choctaw and Chickasaw coal and asphalt lands. The Interior Department plans to have a conference to negotiate the purchase price of these lands, and the writer assures the recipient that they will resist any efforts to delay the matter.
