The letter from Congressman Carl Albert to Mr. H. C. Dukes in Talihina, Oklahoma acknowledges receipt of a letter expressing concerns about coal and asphalt lands. Albert assures Dukes that he will work towards a successful conclusion in negotiations between Tribal Officials, the Department of Interior, and Congress. He also mentions a bill introduced by Bill Stigler to extend lease terms, but states he will not support it unless Carl Albert the rights of the Indians are fully protected. Albert welcomes further communication from Dukes.
