Carl Albert thanks Mr. Carnes for sharing his views on the proposed settlement of Choctaw coal lands. He expresses his desire to continue negotiations to sell the lands and remove restrictions imposed by the Department of Interior, which he believes is unfair and un-American. Albert promises to work towards a final settlement and urges Carnes to write to him whenever he has the time.
