The letter is a response to a request for a copy of "Choctaw Definer" from Reverend and Mrs. Boggan, missionaries to the Chickasaw Indian Nation. The sender, Carl Albert, informs them that there is no such book, but has requested a dictionary of the Choctaw language from the Smithsonian Institution to be sent to them. He expresses hope that the dictionary will be helpful in their work and offers further assistance if needed.
