Identifier: CAC_CC_001_16_1_54_0001
Congressman Carl Albert announced that Choctaw-Chickasaw per capita payments will now be made to known heirs, even if the addresses of other heirs are unknown. This decision was made after discussions with the Office of Indian Affairs. The program aims to ensure that heirs receive their payments promptly, especially with additional payments expected from the Lease District case and the Commutation Bill. In the Lease District case, the Chickasaws won $902,008.11 and the Choctaws won $2,587,833.47.
