Congressman Carl Albert has announced that both Houses of Congress have passed the Second Supplemental Appropriation Bill, which includes $385,000 for the commutation of Choctaw treaty obligations. The President is expected to sign the bill within the next ten days, paving the way for a per capita payment for the Choctaws and Chickasaws this fall. Additionally, the Choctaws will receive funds appropriated for the Commutation Act.
