The Congress established a policy in 1938 to continue supervision and control over the Osage Tribal estate until 1983 for tribal minerals and 1984 for restrictions on alienation. The Osage Tribe and Oklahoma's delegation in Congress support this policy and are urging the committee to remove the Osage Tribe from a resolution.
