The memorandum is a request for the Chairman of the Committee on Interior and Insular Affairs to consider a bill introduced to repeal the Act of August 25, 1959 with respect to the final disposition of the affairs of the Choctaw Tribe. The bill is a result of discussions with leaders of the Choctaw and Chickasaw Tribes and the Department of the Interior is being asked to provide their views on it.
