Ninety Indian children from boarding schools in Arizona and Oklahoma will be visiting Washington, D.C. as part of a program funded by the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare. The Navajo children will be performing traditional and modern American choral music and dances, while the Oklahoma students, members of the Five Civilized Tribes, will be participating in a Youth Development Project. The goal of the program is to help students learn to make plans and decisions for themselves. The students will meet with government officials, tour the White House, and attend a major-league baseball game during their visit.
