The Inter-Tribal Council of the Five Civilized Tribes is concerned about the possible discontinuation of the Master of Public Health Program for Native Americans at the University of Oklahoma due to lack of funding. They have sent resolutions to government officials urging them to continue funding the program to support Native American students in health care administration. The Department of Health, Education, and Welfare has stated that there are currently no additional funds available for this purpose. Governor James and Speaker Carl Albert have been involved in correspondence regarding this issue.
